The Cougars began practice Monday afternoon and Chicago Forward Michael Helf was on the ice participating in drills with his teammates.
The Chicago Forward played last season with the Chicago Blues U18 CSDHL team and was coached by former Cougars Assistant Coach, Justin Maciuk. Maciuk said "Michael has the ability to change a game with his skillset and tenacity and is ready to play at the next level."
Helf was one of the final pieces to the roster for Coach Stoffers this season and will re-unite with a former Blues teammate, Andrew Van Dyke. Stoffers commented Monday "Michael attended our July tryout, but was unsure what he wanted to do this year from a hockey standpoint. Ultimately we got him at the eleventh hour and are very fortunate for that."
Helf and the Cougars open up league play Saturday, September 17th against rival and defending USPHL Champion Dells Ducks. Tickets are on sale now; see you on the 17th!
