Cougars Sign Belgian Forward Delbrassine!

Belgian National team Forward Virgil Delbrassine Headed to Chicago!

Virgil Delbrassine, 5'11, 190 lb Forward from Faimes, Belgium has signed with the Chicago Cougars!

Delbrassine spent last season with the Dijon Dukes in the French U22 League scoring a goal in 13 games and adding 8 Penalty Minutes. Prior to Dijon, Delbrassine played in Germany for Iserlohner U19 recording 14 Points in 30 Games Played. 

Delbrassine will also bring some international experience to the Cougars lineup having played for Belgium in the last two World Junior Championships scoring 2 Goals in 10 Games Played. Virgil also played for his National Team Belgium in the U18 World Championships twice making him a mainstay in the country's lineup the last 4 seasons. 

Coach Stoffers had this to say about his new international Forward "Virgil has been a great addition to our lineup and locker room with his playing experience and the way he carries himself on the ice, in the weight room, and in the community. He is a vital part of our organization here in Chicago and has made an immediate impact. We feel fortunate to have him here."

The 2-way Forward combines a hard hitting style with a lot of skill to be a real threat in the USPHL Elite lineup. Come out and see Virgil and the Cougars Saturday for their home opening game against division rivals, Dells Ducks. 8:30 PM at the Leafs Ice Centre in West Dundee, IL. Go Cougars!
