BENSENVILLE, Ill.- The greater Chicagoland area witnessed an electrifying three-day hockey spectacle as the Chicago Cougars Elite clashed with their crosstown-rivals, the Chicago Crush, in a series that had fans on an emotional rollercoaster. With pride, divisional standings, and bragging rights on the line, both teams left no stone unturned, delivering a hockey extravaganza that lived up to its billing.

Game 1: Edge Ice Arena - January 5, 2024


The stage was set at the Edge Ice Arena, where the initial faceoff between the Cougars and the Crush turned into a display of offensive fireworks and bone-crushing physicality. The Crush drew first blood, courtesy of Austin Kessel's early goal, setting the tone for a night of back-and-forth action. Despite a spirited comeback by the Cougars led by Timothy Boyd and Jack Gardner, the Crush's resilience shone through, sealing the game with a 6-4 triumph. The atmosphere was electric, with a total of 56 penalty minutes highlighting the heated rivalry.

Game 2: Addison Ice Arena - January 6, 2024


The Cougars were ready to get back into the win column as they hit the road to nearby Addison. With a vengeance, they stormed the Addison Ice Arena, orchestrating an offensive masterclass that overwhelmed the Crush defense. Lukas Kurowski and Joshua Roman were the heroes of the night, each contributing significantly to the Cougars' commanding 8-4 victory. The game was not without its drama, as penalty minutes accumulated, culminating in a major penalty and disqualification for the Cougars' Caleb Lind. Nevertheless, the Cougars celebrated a hard-fought win, signaling their determination to level the playing field.

Game 3: Addison Ice Arena - January 7, 2024
