BENSENVILLE, Ill.- In a heated Saturday night rematch, the Chicago Cougars Premier squad found themselves on the receiving end of a 5-0 defeat against the formidable Toledo Cherokee. The home crowd at the Edge Ice Arena witnessed an intense clash that saw the Cougars struggling to match the offensive prowess of their high-powered opponents.
The first period set the tone for Toledo's dominance, with Patrick Dixon lighting the lamp at 14:03, assisted by Brett LoGelfo and Will Poolton. As if that wasn't enough, Aidan Gonzalez capitalized on a shorthanded opportunity just before the period buzzer, giving Toledo a comfortable 2-0 lead.
