FRASER, Mich.- In a high-scoring and action-packed affair at Big Boy Arena, the Chicago Cougars Elite squad emerged victorious in a thrilling clash against divisional rivals, the Motor City Gamblers. The Cougars showcased their offensive skills, securing an 8-5 road win in front of a lively crowd.

The first period set the tone for the game, with both teams displaying an eagerness to assert dominance. Lukas Kurowski opened the scoring for the Cougars at 5:40, showcasing his goal-scoring prowess. Mark Shibalov and Jeffrey Schroeder added to the tally, while Josh Koza and Cameron Kitts responded for the Gamblers. The period ended with the Cougars leading 3-2.

The second period saw an offensive explosion, with both teams trading goals. Gabe Tourtillott and Nolan Machala found the back of the net for the Cougars, while Easton Plater, Carter Schluckbier, and another from Kitts kept the Gamblers in the game. The period concluded with the Cougars and Gamblers all tied up 5-5.

As the tension rose in the third period, the Cougars seized control. Shibalov, Machala, and Andrew Engstrom netted three unanswered goals, securing the road victory for Chicago. The Cougars' special teams played a crucial role, with three power-play goals contributing to their success.

Goaltender Kole Wendt stood tall for the Cougars, making 33 saves in the victory. On the other side, Tyler Houle faced a barrage of shots, making 49 saves for the Gamblers in a losing effort.
