BENSENVILLE, Ill.- Wednesday night at the Edge Ice Arena delivered a hockey spectacle as the Chicago Cougars Elite clashed with the Metro Jets Elite in the first game of a gripping three-game series. The intensity was palpable from the opening faceoff, with both teams trading blows and keeping the fans on the edge of their seats.

The initial period showcased the offensive talents of both squads, with Matthew Hopersberger striking first for the Metro Jets, only to be swiftly answered by Joshua Roman of the Cougars. The teams entered the second period deadlocked at 1-1, setting the stage for a back-and-forth battle.


The middle frame saw the Cougars take the lead, courtesy of Mark Shibalov, but the Metro Jets responded, tying the game at 2-2. Rocco Bifano's third-period goal briefly gave the Cougars a 3-2 lead, but the Metro Jets stormed back with three unanswered goals, securing a 5-3 victory.

Eliot Duerr's 30 saves for the Metro Jets and Jared Ablack's 39-save effort for the Cougars added to the drama.
