ADDISON, Ill.- In a clash that had fans at the edge of their seats, the Chicago Cougars Premier squad emerged victorious in a thrilling shootout against crosstown rivals, the Chicago Crush, at the Addison Ice Arena. The final score, settled in a dramatic shootout, stood at 4-3 in favor of the Cougars.
The game began with a burst of energy from the Cougars in the first period, as Nikolay Ouriashev opened the scoring just under four minutes into the game. His goal was assisted by Arthur Pawlik and TJ Haas. Frank Kula extended the lead for the Cougars later in the period, with assists from TJ Haas and Gerdas Paulauskas. The first period ended with the Cougars up 2-0.
The Crush fought back in the second period, with Sam Barnitz netting a power-play goal to cut the deficit in half. However, the period also saw penalties on both sides, including a slashing call on Connor Schuckmann and a roughing double-minor on Payton Hauge for the Cougars.

Aidan Canady was the hero for the Cougars in the shootout, scoring the game-winning goal. The Cougars secured the victory as goaltender Bennett Pieters stood tall, denying all shootout attempts from the Crush.
