LOCKPORT, IL - Let’s be real, folks. In the grind of a junior hockey season, you’re always looking for a spark. Something that tells you the pieces are starting to click, that the system isn't just a whiteboard diagram but a living, breathing machine of destruction for anyone standing in its way.

This past week, the Chicago Cougars didn't just find a spark. They plugged into the main grid.

The USPHL Premier League made it official, naming a staggering three Cougars as Stars of the Week for November 10-16, 2025. Let that sink in. In a league of dozens of teams, the Chicago Cougars occupied 100% of the Midwest Division weekly honors. That’s not a coincidence; that’s a statement.

We’re breaking down exactly how it happened. No fluff, just the raw data and the hard-nosed reality of what this means for the squad moving forward.

THE FORWARD: SPENCER KAUKe – THE OFFENSIVE DETONATOR

The Stats: 2 Games, 3 Goals, 3 Assists, 6 Points.

Break it down? It’s simple. Spencer Kauke didn’t just play hockey this weekend; he authored a masterclass in offensive dominance. A point-per-game player is valuable. A three-points-per-game player is a weapon. Kauke was a weapon.

He wasn't lurking on the periphery. This was a down-hill, take-what’s-mine kind of performance. He was finding seams in coverage that most players don't see and firing pucks through layers of traffic with terrifying accuracy. Three goals and three helpers means he was both the finisher and the architect. He was the match and the gasoline. When a guy is feeling it like that, the entire offensive ecosystem changes. Defenses have to cheat, lines get mismatched, and the floodgates open.

THE DEFENSEMAN: CHARLIE DOMARACKI – THE TWO-WAY ANCHOR

The Stats: 3 Points, 1 Goal, 2 Assists.

Now, for the blue-liner. Charlie Domaracki’s stat line is impressive for a defenseman, but the numbers only tell half the story. It’s how he did it. This isn't a guy just ripping a lucky shot from the point. Domaracki was jumping into the play with a calculated ferocity that makes opposing coaches tear their hair out.

He’s the shutdown guy you trust in your own zone, but last week, he was also a fourth forward on the rush. His goal was likely a laser beam, and his two assists speak to his vision and first-pass capability. He’s the engine on the back end that transitions defense into offense in the blink of an eye. When your defensemen are producing like a second-line forward, you are an exponentially harder team to contain. It’s a nightmare scenario for the opposition.

THE GOALTENDER: AIDEN WYSOGLAD – THE STABILIZING FORCE

The Stats: 1 Win, 17 Saves on 20 Shots, .850 SV%.

Alright, let's talk about the elephant in the room. On paper, a .850 save percentage doesn't jump off the page. It’s not a 40-save shutout. But this is where you have to understand the context of the game. This was a 6-3 win. The Cougars' offense was a buzzsaw.

So what does a goalie do in that situation? He becomes the ultimate stabilizer. He doesn't need to stand on his head, but he absolutely cannot let in a soft goal that shifts the momentum. Aiden Wysoglad was that rock. When the game was tight, he made the saves he was supposed to make, and a few he probably had no business making. He managed the game, he controlled his rebounds, and he gave his high-flying team the confidence to keep pressing, knowing their last line of defense was locked in. A win is a win, and Wysoglad was the backbone that secured it.

THE VERDICT FROM THE Chicago Cougars SHERIFF

Cougars Premier Head Coach Steve Maltais, a man who has seen just about everything in hockey, didn't mince words when we asked him about the triple honor.

"Look, it’s a heck of an accomplishment for those three and a testament to the work the entire group put in this week," Coach Maltais said, a glint of satisfaction in his eyes. "Kauke was a force multiplier, Domaracki was a rock on both ends, and Wysoglad gave us exactly what we needed in the crease – calm and competence. But this isn't the endgame. This is the standard. This is what we expect. Now the rest of the league knows it, too. The real work is making sure we do it again next weekend."

There you have it. The recognition is earned, the statement is made. The Chicago Cougars aren't just a team with a few good players; they're a unit firing on all cylinders. The league has been put on notice.

Now, the question is… can they do it again?
