Fort Wayne, IN – The Chicago Cougars Premier squad showed remarkable resilience in their two-game road series against the Fort Wayne Spacemen, splitting the series with a thrilling comeback victory in the second game.


In Friday's opener, the Cougars fell 5-2 despite taking an early lead. Alexander Musyakevych opened the scoring with a power-play goal in the first period, assisted by Collin Harrington and Brett Tumbrink.

Owen Plumert added another tally in the second, but the Spacemen's offense proved too much as they netted five unanswered goals to secure the win.


Saturday's rematch saw an entirely different story unfold. The Cougars found themselves in a 4-0 hole entering the third period, but what followed was nothing short of spectacular. Jeffrey Schroeder ignited the comeback with a power-play goal at 3:30, assisted by Trey Henderson and Alexander Musyakevych.

Collin Harrington then took center stage, scoring twice to knot everything up at 4 a piece. His first goal came at 7:42, followed by another at 13:35, both assisted by Alexander Musyakevych. The momentum had clearly shifted, and the Cougars' relentless pressure paid off.

With just over two minutes remaining, Austin Plumert completed the improbable comeback, with a pro-Cougar bounce, netted the game-winning goal assisted by Collin Harrington. The 5-4 victory showcased the Cougars' determination and offensive firepower, particularly in clutch situations.

Alexander Musyakevych was the standout player of the series, tallying a goal and three assists across both games. His playmaking ability was crucial in the Saturday comeback.
